Baseball
Age groups for baseball are 7-8 Mighty Mites, 9-10 Mites, 11-12 Midgets, and 13-14 Juniors. The fee will be $50.00 per child with a 10% discount for all children after the first one has registered. Everyone who registers will play.
Age Control Date: A child’s age as of May 1st of current year will determine the age group they will be eligible to play in.
MOVING-UP: In all age groups there are parents who feel their child should play in an older age group. This moveup process is only for children who already a participant in an age group. A child must be four by April 1st begin to play in our programs. When a parent wants to move their child up they must speak with the athletic staff before the move will be approved. They must fill out an age waiver and speak with the staff so that the rule differences may be explained to them. Make sure we have your correct home phone number.
Uniforms are not supplied in any age group. The registration fee goes to help with the cost of field maintenance, lights for game nights, officials and scorekeepers, and the baseball/softball equipment. Coaches try to find sponsors to cover the cost of the uniforms if a sponsor is not found the parents are responsible for the cost of the uniform.
7-8 Mighty Mites is our coach pitch league. If there are not enough girls to make three teams the girls will play in the baseball coach pitch league. The coach does the pitching to his team in the game. They will have no more than two games per week. They will have 10-12 games. As with t-ball, the 7-8 teams will travel to Woodbine and the North End of Camden County for some of their games. Practices will be scheduled by the head coach of the team and no earlier than 5:30pm. The weather may cause us to have to run into the first week of June. All players must attend the skill’s evaluation. All skill’s evaluation dates will given to you once you register in the parents information letter. Please be sure you receive this letter. There is no post season play for all stars in this age group.
In the 9-10 Mites age group we play pitching machine baseball. This means pitching is done by a pitching machine and not a player. (New rules coming this year for batting so that everyone gets to bat). They will have no more than two games per week. They will have 10-12 games. As with the 7-8 age group teams will travel to Woodbine and the North End of Camden County for some of their games. Practices will be scheduled by the head coach of the team and no earlier than 5:30pm. The weather may cause us to have to run into the first week of June. All stars will not end till the middle of July. All players must attend the skill’s evaluation. All skill’s evaluation dates will given to you once you register in the parents information letter. Please be sure you receive this letter. There will be all star teams chosen for this age group to represent us in the GRPA District Tournaments during the beginning of July.
In the 11-12 Midget age group we play live pitch baseball. They will have no more than two games per week. They will have 10-12 games. As with the 9-10 age group teams will travel to Woodbine and the North End of Camden County for some of their games. Practices will be scheduled by the head coach of the team and no earlier than 5:30pm. The weather may cause us to have to run into the first week of June. All stars will not end till the middle of July. All players must attend the skill’s evaluation. All skill’s evaluation dates will be given to you once you register in the parents information letter. We play by Georgia High School rules with modifications in all age groups from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association.
In the 13-14 Junior age group does not begin play until the Middle School season has ended. We will take registration and if we have enough children to begin our season before the school season has concluded then we will determine the start date. Please get your child registered early if you want him to play. If people are not registered we can not determine the game schedule or a start date. Once registered you will receive an information sheet with proposed dates for everything to begin. Practices will be scheduled by the head coach of the team and no earlier than 5:30pm. There will be all star teams chosen for this age group to represent us in the GRPA District Tournaments during the beginning of July. We play by Georgia High School rules with modifications in all age groups from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association. There is a Mandatory Play Rule in all age groups. Each child will get to play in every game.
T-Ball Information
T-Ball is for children ages 4-5-6 years old. A child must turn 4 years old by April 1stof the current year to be eligible to register. If a boy turns 7 before May 1st of the current year and a girl turns 7 before January 1st of the current year; they must play in the coach pitch league for 7-8 year olds in baseball. The fee to register will be $50.00 per child. A second child discount of 10% is given to families registering more than one child in spring sports.
Scholarships for half off the registration fee are available when a child receives free or reduced lunches from the school. You must provide the approval letter from the school each time you register to receive the discount. The fee when given a scholarship will be: $25 each child and $25 second child and any additional children in same family.

The registration sites/areas are Kingsland, St. Mary’s, Woodbine and North End (Spring Bluff & Tarboro). Sites are determined by where your child attends school. If your child does not attend school then the site is determined by where you live.
REQUESTS must be written on the registration form when you register. Please take all rules into consideration when making your request. In T-Ball requests will be honored as long as there is room on the roster of the team you are requesting.
T-Ball is a beginning program for participants with little or no baseball experience. Players will learn basic rules, hitting, catching, and throwing fundamentals. Scores are not kept during the season.
Practices are set by the coaches and are usually scheduled in the evenings starting no earlier than 5:30pm. The T-ball teams are made up of returning players from the previous year to start with (if anyone is returning). Then new players are added to the teams by the athletic staff. Everyone who registers will play. There is not a skill’s evaluation in this age group. Requests are honored until the team rosters have been given to the coaches. Then no one is allowed to swap teams. Teams will play 8 to 10 games depending on when the season gets underway. We will have some teams that travel to Woodbine to play the North End T-ball teams so that they will also have 8-10 games. Directions to the North end T-ball fields and all games sites will be given on the schedules. Teams are limited to 10 players per team. Make sure if you have a request that it is written on the registration form. The weather could cause us to have to go through the first Saturday in June.
Volunteer coaches are always needed in this age group and all age groups.
