Gymnastics Explanation
EXPLANATION OF GYMNASTICS CLASSES:
Mom & Me: Offers fun packed lessons that develop motor skills, agility, and ability. Best of all, this class builds the parent/child relationship because you work with your child at all times. Mom & Me classes feature custom toddler sized equipment, unique teaching methods, and innnovative instruction. It’s fun, healthy, and “play with a purpose”. Boredome doesn’t stand a chance!
Pre-School: Gymnastics designed for 3 to 5 years old. Basics of general routines. Pre-requisite to Hot Shots. Classes meet once each week.
Beginning Gymnastics: Designed for 6 and up. Beginners will learn the basics of gymnastics in four routine areas: floor routine, balance beam, uneven bars and vault. If a child has never taken gymnastics before or it has been a while since the child has taken classes, this is where the child should start. If Yuri or another coach feels that the child’s abilities are beyond this class they will tell us and we can then move them to the appropriate class. Classes meet once each week.
Advanced Gymnastics: Designed for 6 and up. Advance gymnastics will improve upon the skills they already know and teach more advanced techniques to be advanced to the Pre-Team. If a child has been in Beginning classes and wants to advance to this class, they must first have Yuri’s approval. This is a pre-requisite to Junior and/or Senior Pre-Team. Classes meet once each week.
Junior Pre-Team: Designed for 4-6 years old. A more advanced level of gymnastics geared toward the pre-school aged child when Hot Shots is not enough. Yuri will advance the child from Hot Shots to this class, from this class they will go into Senior Pre-Team when they reach the correct age or be selected to go to the team. This class meets twice each week for two hours each.
Senior Pre-Team: Desinged for 7 and up. A more advanced level of gymnastics than the once a week class for advanced gymnastics. Yuri will advance the child from regular class gymnastics to pre-team. This is a pre-requisite to the competitive team. This class meets twice each week for two hours each.
Cheer Tumbling: This class is designed for middle and high school aged girls who are trying out to be or are already cheerleaders. The starting age is 12 unless pre-arranged with Yuri. The cheer leaders will work on tumbling techniques in this class; no cheers will be performed.
Boys Gymnastics: This is deisgned for 5 and up. This class teaches the beginners through advanced on bars, rings, and other gymnastics events for the male gymnast. Classes meet once each week. Promotion to the boys competitive team is done by Yuri.
